The E 11th St delivery worker hub came up three times, from a resident, Assemblymember Keith Powers, and the District Manager. Powers promised renewed enforcement and more sanitation pickups, while the District Manager noted that no law bars the 100+ e-bikes from parking there overnight and that delivery apps give workers nowhere to rest between trips.
Drug activity has shifted from Sara D. Roosevelt Park to Seward Park and Tompkins Square Park. Increased NYPD presence cut activity in SDR Park after many complaints, and the Borough President’s office is looking into the rise at Seward Park.
One of the 17 free public bathrooms the City began installing last week will go on Delancey Street. Mayor Mamdani’s liaison also highlighted the new Vision Zero Reimagined plan to bring traffic deaths down to zero.

they are upset about the 24/7 presence of the e-bikes, not the people there — obstruction has led businesses to close and people to avoid the area

would like to help build a new multi-use building on the East River Pier, between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, with accessible pricing
would set rentals starting at $8 and rely on high-volume and multi-tiered ticketing to make up the cost

Addressing continued concerns about E 11th St delivery workers hub:
there will be renewed enforcement, confiscation of bikes if they are illegally fixed to a city property
increasing services like sanitation to the block to increase clean-up frequency

Participatory budgeting launched yesterday! Collection will take place until 11/6 - submit your suggestions for where money should be directed
Office is helping people file exemptions to the pied-a-tierre tax if they have been wrongly assessed

There will be new trainings for members on SLA (liquor licenses), Robert’s Rules, and other procedures - times and dates not set yet
District Manager’s Report
In October, we will be voting on District Needs and priorities
priorities are worked on by their respective committees throughout the year
in December, the DMs then meet with the agencies to learn what programs are receiving funding, what is being cut, problems like staff vacancies affecting agencies
DM has been personally working on E 11th St situation for many years now
over 100 e-bikes present, used by food delivery workers to make their deliveries
these workers do not have a location to rest between deliveries or somewhere to stay, the delivery apps do not provide anything
extra cleanings are being done on the block, local Church is working with the workers on keeping the area clean
there is no law against the bikes being left there overnight, they just have to be in a legal parking place or bike corral. but there are not enough corrals in the area, and when bikes are dispersed, they are often stolen
Many people calling the office about drug activity in Seward Park
there has been a recent decrease in Sara D. Roosevelt (SDR) Park following many complaints, which led to an increased NYPD presence in this park
but this has led to increased activity in Seward Park and Tompkins Square Park, since attention was only focused on SDR Park situation
City came out with a draft housing plan, CB3 commented based on positions the board has already voted on and the District Needs Statement
plan for CB3 is a little over 7,000 units in the next 5 years, with 75% of them being market rate
one of CB3’s comments was that only 25% of the units being affordable housing does not meet our highest priority need (affordable housing)

Changes being made to the attendance policy to clear up attendance issues
if you miss too many meetings in a 6-month period you get a warning in a letter and will be requested to speak to the Executive Committee
if absences continue in the next 3 months, members are then are subject to removal
